I will go for swimming - you are talking toning not building

The bench press thing is second to aerobics in your case. Please read this about the myth of toning

Contrary to those who have answered and say the "bench press" is the best or the one trying to drum up business, I have a different answer. Flat bench dumbbell presses will best isolate the pecs. They will better develop the "balancing" muscles and allow a greater isolation of the inner pecs. You can also slightly alter the grip and drop to reduce pressure on the front delts. Going heavy, meaning weight you can do 7 to 12 repetitions, is easier done with a spotter but will develop size. I am 5'9 and I weigh 240. I have competed locally, state level and have competed in two USA's. While bench press will hit the pecs, for true isolation I have along with many pros found heavy dumbbell presses hit the spot.

Bench press is #1 for chest. No question.

Also, the 3 main workouts that you'll ever need are:
1) Bench press
2) Squat
3) Dead lift
