These cats and kittens are living under a retirement home that will soon be bulldozed down in Port Richey, Florida. There are about a dozen cats and kittens all together. I have notified many shelters in the area and they all tell me they don't have room for that many cats. Besides, none of them will guarantee me that the cats will be kept alive. There must be somebody in Pasco County, Florida who truly rescues cats. I just can't find them! If any of the readers of this plea is from the west Pasco County area, please come and rescue these adorable cats. I will help!

Hi there...consider posting a plea on the local Florida Craigslist http://geo.craigslist.org/iso/us/fl . From here look for your nearest city and then under the Community section there's a Pet section where you can post a free ad. There may be many people who then will be able to offer help to rescue the kitties.

Oh boy! I'm in PA. Doesn't it just get your goat that animal protection agencies don't give a wink about a few feral cats? The kittens could probably be socialized and be perfectly adoptable. Unfortunately, in most places, there are so many cats available, that a few more don't make much difference.

You might be able to embarass them into taking some action. Have you tried a few calls to local media. This time of year they are always looking for a heartwarming story or a way to help people find a way to do some good.

There is a website AlleyCatAllies.org. They provide information about rescuring feral cats and have literature available for sale for people who want to start an action group to benefit feral cats. You might try searching around that site to see if they know of any group close to you. Remember, though it's a .org not a .com site.

I'll say a special prayer that something good happens and thank you for caring about those cats.

while the cats may be adorable. many of them are as you say feral. wild. untamable. they would probably die of a heart attack if you tried to handle them, and that's if they didn't try to eat you first. Also I'm sure that they have contagious diseases. I love cats, but I have to say I think the adult cats need to be put to sleep. The kittens need to be tested for a disease and dispersed to various shelters and foster homes.

I think it's a shame someone let these cats get so out of hand. They should have been caught in the beginning, neutered, and handled.

sad as it may seem if a shelter does have to euthanize some cats its better in the long run...soooo having said that most shelters HAVE to accept strays... some of these may have microchips or other identification and the shelter will have to try to return them to their owners.. some may be quite wild and unadoptable
it is actually better to euthanize them than to rehome them where they may go wild again and continue to breed creating a problem down the road again...
so although it sucks you can try your best but accept that sometimes the best thing is the hardest thing too...
young kittens can be tamed

dont allow just anyone to come and get them.. research labs will want them, as will jerks with illegal fighting dogs they want to train to kill... so ya some may be better off euthanized

this is ordinary. you could not. they'd desire to pick they are waiting to attitude you. Feral (not ferrel) cats have honestly substitute into wild animals. you could reveal non-threatening habit, furnish nutrients, etc and examine out to get them to believe you. no count if or not they do or not is uncertain.
