Revelation 3:6 "He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches."
Do you understand that these are the SEVEN types of churches that Jesus is calling your attention to that exist in these Latter Days? Remember, there are only TWO of them that our Lord calls His own? The first was the church at Smyrna; the church which knew all about the "KENITES", and were not deceived by them. The second church that our Lord called His own, is the next; the church of Philadelphia.
Revelation 3:7 "And to the angel of the church in Phil-a-del-phi-a write; These things saith He that is Holy, He that is True, He that Hath the KEY of David, He that Openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;
Jesus Christ has only good words to say about the Philadelphia church. It is important for us to understand this verse. This church of Philadelphia held the "Key of David". They knew who the "KENITES" were, thus they were able to understand all truths [ Hidden Manna ] of God's Word. That "Key of David" allowed them to unlock all doors of deception laid before them by any man, and that includes Satan, or his offspring [the Kenites].
Philadelphia was and is a church of love and charity, and full of the understanding of all the wisdom and truth in God's Word. Philadelphia's Faith is made real through her Works. Does your church align with the church of Philadelphia?
Revelation 3:8 "I know thy WORKS: behold, I have set before thee an Open Door, and no man can shut it; for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My Word, and hast not denied My Name."
When God opens the Door so you can see into His Truth, it's a Blessing. With just a little strength from God, anything is possible. When you know the Truth of God's Word, you will never follow any man's tradition that go against the Word of God, or be tempted by the Antichrist, or his system.

Those who understand the High Priestly ministry of Christ in the heavenly sanctuary above know that this verse is speaking of the beginning of the judgment when Jesus moves from the first compartment of the sanctuary into the most holy place. The door that is closed is the ending of Jesus' ministry in the first compartment and the door that is open is the start of the cleansing of the sanctuary that began in 1844 (Yom Kippur according to the Jews)

You need to look at verse 7. God is the one that opened the door that no man can shut. God is the one that shut the door that no man can open. This shows God as being all power. God looked at the works of the church of Philadelphia and found them to keep Gods word, and never denied God and because of that God has opened a door to them that no man can shut. The interesting part is that they are found to have little strength. That means that they would have to rely on God and if they had ever denied him it would be game over for them and the door would have never been opened for them. It does not end there in verse nine look at what happens to the synagogue of Satan, they come and worship God before those in the church of Philadelphia. What an awesome God we Have.

At Revelation 3:8, Jesus said to the congregation in Philadelphia: “I know your deeds—look! I have set before you an opened door, which no one can shut—that you have a little power, and you kept my word and did not prove false to my name.” Evidently, Christians in Philadelphia had been active, and now a door of opportunity was opening up for them.

Here is a little better translation...
Rev 3:8 ‘I know what you are doing. Look! I have put an open door in front of you. No one can shut it. I know that you don’t have much strength. But you have obeyed my word. You have not said no to me.
Literally translated (my own translation:)
I know your works, look, I have placed (given) an open door before you (in your sight) which no one is able to close. You have only tiny strength, yet you have kept my word and not denied (rejected) my name.
...I know what you have done. I (not you) have given you power, authority, or opportunity and you have followed my word. No one can un-do what I have done. Your accomplishments are not the result of human effort, but the result of God's spirit working through you. Remember to put the honor where it belongs and you will see great things (roughly paraphrased.)

8I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
You have chosen a fascinating and mixed verse of metaphor. The church to which this is addressed is Philadelphia (Asia). They had suffered a devastating earthquake in 17 A.D. The key is in reference to Is. 22:22. The open door refers to Paul's comments along this line in 1 & 2 Cor. as a mission field opening.
Thus we have Jesus holdnig the dor open for the Phil. Christians to move forward w/ the conversion of the Jews, with every expectation of success since none can shut.

FOR JIM ------- it somewhat is solid to be sure ANY translation of the Bible to have Jehovah God's call the place it belongs. i'm very familiar with the yank well-known version of the Bible - in certainty, while i began out reading with Jehovah's Witnesses, I obtained a replica of that version and in many circumstances used it to coach others that God's call substitute into interior the Bible in particularly some places as substitute into interior the King James - which I owned and in many circumstances study. So we are happy to be sure one greater TRANSLATION to restoration God's call to its suitable place.

It tells us ~I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
I believe it is saying I know what you have done to honor the LORD and I will open doors for you, to challenge you and to help you to grow in my Grace. No one can close the doors. If you have kept my Word in your Heart you should not refuse my Name.
I'm not sure but thats how I understood it.
Here is the New King James Version~
I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;[a] for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
Here is the New International~ I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

'I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
....this seems pretty self explanitory if not unepic...it's basically saying I give you an opportunity (open door), you have little power and you continue to strive to do the right thing....why is that such a difficult translation/significant? :)..
