Hi, thanks for taking time to help me out.

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and I don't know what to get him. His birthday is very close to Christmas so I have to get him 2 things or one larger present. I am looking to spend about $200 combined. But the problem is he has a lot of stuff and I cant think of what to get him.

We are in university together and he is an english major. He doesnt really care for sports, but he does enjoy the outdoors and does a lot construction and home improvment type stuff for work.

Thanks for any help,
Jane

Maybe a pair of work boots or dickies?

A book on something relevant to the outdoors won't hurt either.

;)

cheers

Okay. You're still young so it's understandable if you won't be able to give him something expensive for you still don't have jobs and that sort. For me, it would be great if you'd just give him a present that symbolizes how you feel for him and what he is for you. It's some sort of a gift that when he keeps on looking at it, he can't stop remembering you and he won't be able to escape "cloud 9". Let those gifts be simple yet very significant. Don't spend too much cash on it but put all your sweat and blood into it. Anyway, it's not about how much money you spent but on how much effort you put into it. Now that's what i call love.

Well, since he has a lot of stuff; why don't you cook something special for him like his favourite food. The cost does not matter, its the thought that counts and how much sincerity, love and effort that you put in to whip up something for him to eat. Like an oldage saying, "A way to man's heart is through his stomach". It will be memorable if both of you spend time together at a serene place to enjoy the food.

Wow $200 is a lot of money. I think that's a bit much. I got my boyfriend a $22 shirt and he said that cost too much (I accidentally left the price tag on it...).

The price doesn't matter.

Do something from the heart. It shows more effort and shows how much you care about him. You can write a poem... make him a nice card... anything.

It's the priceless things that matter. : }

English major..does he like to write? get him a personalized journal, and one of those really expensive pens...I like to write..I would love that for my birthday. Or, who is his favorite poet? for Chirstmas, you can get get him his favorite author's full collective works. He'd probably appreciate that.
