It completely depends on your doctor and his/her medical practice. Most doctors will test you for HIV when you go in for your initial bloodwork (right after your first prenatal visit). Some doctors will test you again throughout the pregnancy, while others will stick solely to the first test. Testing can also depend on your HIV risk level. If either you or your doctor have reason to be concerned that you may have been exposed to HIV, then you may be tested more frequently than a pregnant woman in a strictly monogamous relationship.
Personally, my doctor tested me at my first OB appointment (along with all of the other routine bloodwork), then again at 28 weeks when I went in for my gestational diabetes screening and second round of bloodwork. He told me that his medical practice follows this protocol for all pregnant women.

Usually the first visit with an obgyn is just for a pregnancy confirmation test. Then the next visit they will take blood and run several tests including the HIV test.

My doctor did a blood test for this long list of things (which included every STD I'd ever heard of) that she said were transferable to the baby on my first visit. I'm not sure if they ever tested again although I did have blood tests later on in my pregnancy. If you're worried about it though and have real reason to be worried I'm sure they would test you again.

It's an option at the very start of pregnancy, because there are revolutionary drugs today that can stop the virus from spreading to the baby if the mother is infected. The sooner doctors know, the easier it is to start treatment.

I was only tested for AIDS my first prenatal visit. Most pregnant women are monogamous so they do not need multiple tests. If you are concerned I suggest talking with your doctor.

Women are normally tested at one of their first couple of visits. I had all of my prenatal blood tests done at my first visit.

I think they sent me to get bloodwork done on my 2nd visit. Should have been the first, but the CNA forgot to tell me.

When you get the first bloodwork, they take the HIV test. Again at the hospital, they take it again before delivery.
