what do you mean by decent?
im pretty decent(i think)and im sure there are plenty of others as long as you look in the appropriate places!

i think for most people the internet is a escape from their real lives and the can tell anyone what they want to and the other person will most likely never know the difference, i personally am as honest as i can be, because i've had people lie to me on the net before. and its very upsetting....one of the main reasons i stay away from chat rooms....yahoo answers is as close as i get to talking to people on the net.

depends on the forum or site you usually hang about.
sometimes it also depends on person to person,
for example wikipedia has articles on everything ranging from American history to the female reproductive organ. Some people may find some of its contents offensive

i'm guessing that maybe you have had a bad experience with rude people on-line. I know of lots of decent peopl on-line. The people who come on and are rude are just showing their own insecurity.

one of my teachers used to say there's so much good,in the worst of us and so much bad in the best of us.that it behooves us not to pass judgment in the rest of us.as a whole most people are decent id like to think..everyone has a bad day..

If people have been rude to you, it's because they're able to hide behind their anonymity. I'm sure if you met them in real life they would be very decent people.
