Well about 9 months ago I got my belly pierced but all of a sudden in my bottom hole(next to my belly button) a big bump grew and then all of a sudden it popped and there is exposed flesh. It is SOOO painful so i went to my piercer and he said i had a keloid but i dont think he saw that my flesh was exposed too. Well he told me to put tea tree oil on it but it really stings and puts tears in my eyes. Is this really a keloid? Should i go to my doctor because its very painful and im getting throbbing pain. What should i do?? help!

I'd either go to a doctor, or go to a different piercer and have it looked at for a second opinion. I am reallllly surprised that this person told you to put tea tree oil on it. Thats a big no no. If I were you, i'd go to the doctor first. Leaving that open for infection is just asking for it. In the mean time, i put a website below that talks all about keloids.

good luck,

If it looks like a scar then its probably a keloid which is just an exaggerated large scar. If it hurts and popped it is probably some sort of infection. Have you removed the piercing yet? If not thats the first thing i'd do, then clean with peroxide

yes, i have the same from operation. it is when your cells grown rapidly causig problem---you will have to stop the piercing by letting it close up. many will pay for piercing part that should not be pierced.
