children of other faiths. Would a more wiser system be to have assemblies of rotating faiths even including an atheist one so that today’s children can grow up understanding and respecting other peoples religions.

That's a very good Q.. I believe that if we are going to stand behind our Constitution and Bill of Rights then yes to each his own.. The last thing we need is religious persecution in our schools like we have right here.. God bless you..

The Christian assemblies are not run by the public schools. They can be student led, but not run by the schools. If they are run by the schools I would be very surprised and would like to see the evidence that its' run by a school.

Since it is most likely student led, then if an atheist wants an assembly or a different faith wants an assembly, let them have their own assembly. No one should be forced to attend any religious assembly they don't want to attend.

The students themselves can hold christian assemblies but I seriously doubt if the school itself is behind either the organization or the promotion of such events. If the school is then they should be stopped at once

Assemblies and all other official school sponsored events should not have anything to do with any religion.

Yes, students have the right to pray in school but that is an individual right and does not include school sponsorship.

Atheist assembly... hahahaha Know what that's called? Study Hall.

What on earth kind of public schools to you have that do this... Don't most schools start early enough, with the kids half asleep at their desks the first half hour anyhow...

No public school should be doing this. If they are, they are violating the Constitutional rights of the children attending that school.

If it's a private school, they are free to do what they like at assembly.

A 'more wiser' system would be to use the time to teach the children.

There shouldn't be any religion in school. This is what our constitution clearly states.
