calm down. your talking to the girl whose hair looks like her grandmother's garden sporuted a furry yellow bush with large earlobes onto her head. don't worry. great tips for your kind of hair:
options:
1. if you haven't tried blow drying or straightening, give it a test run! it may be time consuming, but it keeps your hair perfect until you wash it out. plus, if you keep your straightner at a lower setting, youre hair won't burn and will look healthy and shiny.
2. i don't enjoy porducts, but they can really help. i suggest sunsilk or panteen proV. both conditioner and shampoos and great to tame weird uneven waves, large poof, random curl, and ugly ends...they keep your hair less poofs and more straight.
hair styles perfect for bad hair:
1. messy buns were made for mad hair! just jumble up your hair and tie it in a weird contortion, creating a messy bun. here's a good tip: to make your bun look even cuter, tie it high and tight, then pull it down slowly to get that really messy "i just ran a mile and yet i look great" kind of look. buns are adorable!
2. braids never fail! either two low, loose braids or one messy braid works! if you have side bangs, clip them to the side with a bobby pin or something, for the single braid, make it look and low.
3. a ponytail is a classic. ponytails (high or low) always work.
4. besides the messy type of bun, try the wispy kind. tie a tight, higher bun at the straight back of your head and pin all hair in your face back. this gives a sophisticated yet beautiful, clean winter fresh look.
5. brush your hair well and then put on a cute headband. whether your hair is poofy or great, the headband style will always look good. trust me.
over all, your hair will look fine no matter what, remember that. plus, the whole ear thing is nothing big at all! if your really self consious about it, try going to a salon and getting wispy bangs. They can easily take attention off your ears.
good luck and beauty comes from the heart, not the ears. hope i helped.

Bust out the accessories. Headbands, hats, scarves. Braid your hair to one side, that's pretty cute. Do you ever use a leave in conditioner? After you've shampoo-ed and conditioned your hair, gently dry your hair with a towel. Don't briskly rub your hair with the towel, it increases frizz and poofiness. If your hair is fine or there's not a lot of it, use a SPRAY leave-in conditioner (Joico), if it's thick or coarse use a cream (ABBA Nourishing). Then comb it through, starting at the ends (comb not brush) with a wide tooth comb. Let it air dry or blow dry. After you've finished, use a shine serum. Don't use too much and concentrate on the ends. Biosilk Silk Therapy is a great product because it's composed of silk proteins as opposed to silicone, which some people don't like. Hope that helps. Oftentimes with complex hair, one product won't do the trick. Use a routine, get into the habit of doing it and you'll find that you can control frizziness or poofiness. Anyone can have beautiful hair.

When I am having a bad hair day I just pull it back into a pony tail. Since you think you have big ears, I guess that isn't an option for you. There are all kinds of products on the market to help with poofiness. That Sunsilk Anitpoof shampoo and conditioner work pretty good. Also putting some kind of product in your hair like ISO Bouncy Cream could help. Helps me.

Try the Garnier Fructis Sleek and Smooth set of products,or pay a visit to Carol's Daughter www.carolsdaughter.com for products that can help tame your hair. Do not fight your hair. Learn to use its qualities in your favor. Don't knock yourself out trying to straighten it every day (or destroy your mane with heat styling tools while you're at it) And be very gentle when washing or towel drying your hair, rough handling can create the poofiness you so detest. My mantra for problem hair is always Condition, condition, condition - don't skimp on deep conditioning.
At the risk of seeming tongue-in-cheek, until you get the routine on carolsdaughter.com down pat, wear a wig! (I use a wig when I've no time to create a groomed look for my hair- I just comb moisturizer through it, put on the stocking cap then pop on my nicely brushed and sprayed wig.).Give that website a try,it's worth it!
And have you considered individual braids? That's a low maintenance sytling option right there. Bust out the accessories and get funky wit' it. Learn to co-operate with your hair.
Keep it real =)

Whenever u have a bad hair day and don't feel like covering ur hair with a bulky cap, heres some hair styles I suggest:
tight bun
loose bun
two braids
regular ponytail
Also another good idea is to get your hair braided. This is a lot easier than having to hassle with your hair everyday. Also, braids can help your hair grow. But, don't worry there are plenty of braids that can allow you to do several different things with them.
Hopes this helps!

i used to have your exact problem. Then I invested in a really good flat iron and now my hair looks amazing all the time compared to before. I also never used to put it up because i thought it looked bad like that, but now i do it all the time and it still looks fine. Forget about your ears, personality matters the most.

wrap your hair in a bun. Then put on a silk pretty scarf with a pair of black shades. Apply a clear or light brownish lipgloss.
