Of course she can. I found this really good website that has TONS of information about homeschooling and how to get started. They're also having an essay contest, in which the top two essayists will each win a Nintendo Wii!! The essay must be 500-1,000 words, and the question to be answered is: How is your family putting "Christ" into Christmas this year? The contest ends December 31st, 2006.

Uh. . .WHY?
Before you need information on Home Schooling, you need some information from your daughter
Before you agree to this she owes you a good explanation why she wants to drop out of school before her senior year
(It strikes me as very odd, since senior year is usually the MOST FUN!!)
Is she real ambitious about college? The districts in my area, metro Detroit, will let high school juniors and seniors take courses at the community college, so its not really 'home-schooling', just advanced placement. This could really be better for you and her, she gets to do school that interests her, you don't have to flip your world around to become a home school teacher.
I hope shes not in trouble, either offical school trouble or peer pressure trouble. I hope you and her can talk, find out what's behind this

Honestly, just Google "homeschooling." There's a plethora of info right there. And, yes, you may homeschool for just one year. Then when she decides on a college, have her take the required tests for entrance. She can also go for her GED which is the equivalent of a diploma. As long as she has enough credits, she should be fine.

P.S. I'm sorry, but Tenn Gal is incorrect. You do not have to register.

Yes she can homeschool for just one year.

Start with HSLDA www.hslda.org , find out about the regulations in your area, find a support group to talk to, figure out what she wants to do--is she going to get her diploma? If so, at this point you should probably look around at online schools--very difficult at this point to put your own homeschooling program together to graduate. American School is one that came up recently, but there's also Penn Foster and others.

First you need to register her with the School System that she is being home school. There are procedures to follow for home school.
You should find a good curriculum:
I recommend ABEKA (based in Pensacola Fl.) They have all the classes on DVD and you buy the books from them. My grandson had used this from K-4 to 5th Grade.
You can find more information at WWW.ABEKA.COM

You should go to the city school district office and get information from there.
