the MOST painful place to get tattooed is on the top of your foot. i have mine done (http://www.myspace.com/jctattoos) and so does my friend and she has about 30 tattoos and said it was the worst. BUT i'm still getting another one in a few weeks, on my other foot so it's definitely bearable. just not necessarily "fun". good luck!

I do not think there is a "least painful" place to get a tattoo. I guess this would all depend on your pain threshold and the size of the tattoo. If you want something that is very small and takes less than 10 minutes to tattoo, it obviously would not hurt as bad as getting something big. A bigger tattoo would mean more time in the chair and more blood loss, thus more pain.
Some people may say a tattoo on a fleshy part of the body is not as painful as when the needle hits the bone, I would beg to differ. I personally like the vibration of the needle on my spine. Once again, it all depends on the person.
Just make sure you get something you would absolutely love so you won't regret it. Good luck!

To tell you the truth there is gonna be some pain regardless.I dont want to scare you or lie and say there wont be.The way I got over the same situation is I imagined the needle on different places of my body.when I felt more comfortable around a certain area I thought that was a good place. But what will help if the skin is used to being exposed more which will make it less painful.I got mine on my forearm and its pretty big.It didnt hurt cause that part of my arm isnt sensitive.Honestly the only time I felt any pain was after I got it and it was healing and my friends kept hitting it.That hurts.GOOD LUCK!!!

i only have one tattoo and its on my leg; not right on the ankle but above it. im a huge baby when it comes to pain and surprisingly it didnt hurt. felt like a massage. the closer he got to my ankle, the more tender it was but it was completely bareable. i was able to talk casually throughout the whole process without wincing. i think the closer it is to muscle the less painful (i didnt feel a thing when the artist was drawing near my calf muscle). but also that area gets flexed alot so maybe that has something to do with it not hurting cuz theres muscles on arms and such and those tend to hurt people. the only pain i felt was afterwards when it was stinging while i was walking. totally bareable tho!! but since theres really no muscle, or even fat for that matter, on ur foot, it will prolly hurt. ive heard different stories, some say it felt like nothing or least of what they expected and others say it felt like an Exact-o knife cutting their foot. guess it just depends on ur pain tolerance.

I've heard that your foot is a fairly painful place to get a tattoo... however, my opinion of what hurts is not going to be the same as yours...

Pain is relative. Some people have a very low tolerance others not. I personally started to fall asleep when having one done on my back. My dad had one put on his bicep and almost cried. Stay away from bony areas with lots of nerve endings and little fat. Ribs are the worst thighs a close second. Least painful has to be boob or butt.

Well all tattoos hurt. My husband tells his customers that if you get it on a spot where there is more skin, then it doesn'thurt as much because its not directly on the bone.
but i have been pricked with a needle on my foot (cause that is where i wanted one too) but it hurt way to much and i backed out..
plus you have to be vary careful when getting one there because of all you veins on the top of your foot.

The foot is a painful spot, no fat to pad it. less painful would be the butt, of course you don't want to sit on it. :)
Try a "fat" body part if you don't want a lot of pain.
They are using a needle so there will be some involved.
Be thankful they aren't using bamboo shafts :)

The least painful place? On someone else's body! No matter where you get one, you're in for some serious hurt, so just pick a spot where you'll like seeing it and prepare yourself.
