I dunno. Michael Jackson says his skin just naturally went pale. I guess it's possible, but unless he reveals otherwise, I've never heard of anyone else who has managed such a dramatic change.
Anything you put on the surface of your skin might lighten it temporarily, but that would only be temporary as, when the top layer of skin sloughs off (and this is a continuing process) the lightened skin would slough off as well.
If you are avoiding sunlight to keep your complexion pale, think about taking vitamins (especially D) as you won't be getting that from the sunlight and it is an essential vitamin.

You should read Laura Jefferson’s book "Skin Whitening At Home" ( I saw it's also available in electronic format +video: http://www.skinwhiteningathome.com ). After 8 weeks I managed to get my skin a few tones whiter and I also got rid of freckles.

The method she teaches in her book is natural, inexpensive, and is readily available in most homes. You could even find some ingredients in your own backyard. The most wonderful thing about the method she shares in her book is that it will help you whiten or lighten your skin pigmentations, freckles, age spots, acne marks, dark underarms, melasma, or your overall skin color easily and naturally without breaking your bank or producing dangerous side effects. Good Luck!

There is a tattooing procedure that can be done, similiar to how some women have their makeup tattooed on their faces and how burn victims tattoo normal skin tones on their scars. To my knowledge, you'd probably have to go with the darker skin tone. Also, this is not a cheap procedure. Honestly, I think you should just wear whatever you want to wear and be done with it. Accept and be happy with who you are.

i usd to have the same problem besauce my skin was so tanned and i wanted it to be more light and white so i asked few of my friends if they knew any thing about it but the tips they gave didnt work and finally i just gave up because then i realize that just be happy with the way you are and if theres nothing i can do about it so i'd rather be happy with it and also i thought i was really lucky to have a brown and tanned skin because lots of my friens have light skin and they r really jealoush because i dont have to do a fake tann.... so yeeeeee.. but still if you r really really desperate to get your skin light then i think the best thing is to go and talk with your doctor and see what the doctor has to say.......good luck ... xoxoxox

i wouldnt recommend staying out of the sun. "The sun is an important source of Vitamin D. Our bodies make Vitamin D when sunlight touches our bare skin."
