I think it's society's way of seperating the two ... women are supposed to be sacred and held in a different light because we can bear children ... for men it seems like practice makes perfect.
Both sexes should save themselves for the right person but while its acceptable for a woman to be inexpirienced it's looked upon as freakish for a guy ..
I am unsure about the double standard ... I think that it happened a while back and has just gone too far.

Personally I think it's at an equal level in life. Seems as the world doesnt think so. You're right with what you have stated above. I agree with you there. In god's eyes the way he wanted it, it's equal also....but like I said, it's not anymore. If a girl loses her's at 15 she's a slut, but if a guy does he's the man. And if a guy takes a womens then he's on top of the world for like the next year to come.
That's all I guess.....have fun reading the opinions of other people.

ABSOLUTLEY NOT. I'm glad you brought this up for I have never pondered the thought.
EVERYONE'S virginity is precious. I wish more teens knew that. I WISH I thought like that at 15. However, society creates a double standard. Woman are taught to make him wait because we are worth it. But then you turn on MTV and what do you see? Woman dressed like whores to sell their albums. When it comes to sex, I don't think anyone can win.

Yeah society usually places more value on a woman's virginity and the reason I think is because women get penetrated; while men are the penetrators. That's why almost everything negative about sex is the man's fault. We're the invaders.

I prefer to date virgins actually, because I know I wouldn't want to marry a guy who wasn't one. I believe in abstinence. If I could save myself for my future husband, then I'm sure that my future husband is capable of that same self control. In Christianity both men and women are instructed to save themselves for marriage, and I have a strong faith, and expect the same of my life partner.

i have no idea why this is. i think its wrong. its just like a guy who has more than one gf is a pimp and is cool but a girl who does the same is a whore. its stupid. i think guys should wait just like women should and their virginity is just as important. i dont think it should be rushed into. people are losing their virginity way too early these days and are getting pregnant and spreading STD's and cheating on spouses and significant others.

NO. I think it should be the same. Its kept for the same reason, mostly. These days you want to wait and get that certain someone and give the gift of yourself.

because it's a lot harder for a woman to fake being a virgin than it is for a guy. women can't replace their hymen, a guy can always lie about being a virgin, whether he is or isn't.
