If you live in a cold climate, how about a casmere scarf or gloves? (check out Land's end or Smartbargains.com). Casmere "anything" is a rather elegant gift she can use and will be easy to size. Pashmena scarfs are beautiful too and are worn over the shoulders like a shawl. If you're in a warmer climate, get her a beautiful silk scarf that she can wear around her shoulders. A mirrored compact case would be nice; she can carry it in her purse. In otherwords, go all out on a small elegant gift. Please don't be afraid to tell a good sales lady what you're needing; look for an older lady, she'll have some great ideas! Dont' worry, you're giving with your heart! Godloveya, and happy holidays!

Being female, after 5 months of dating I would be happy with a DVD we could watch together, a bath and body gift basket, a good book, a massage? Whatever you decide I would keep the cost under $50 more than that might seem a little desperate so soon.

Since you seem to be worried about getting her material stuff, than you should just get her a nice photo frame that has a nice embroidery with a pic of the two of you in the holiday time. Sometime to that effect thats more meaningful and doesn't haven't be sometihng like jewelry or perfume.

i've only had one girlfriend,,,, and i wasn't with her long enough to get her anything. :)
but i'd just think about what some of her interests are, and get her something related to that.
if she likes chocolate, get her some chocolate.
if she likes music, get her a cd or dvd with a band she likes.
if she likes sports, maybe a piece of sports equipment
etc....
but of course for a girlfriend you need something romantic and personal, so i think a card/note/letter that includes how you're feeling about her and why you like her would be nice as a keepsake.
she can always look at it and think of you.

i guess i would like something more personal, like a cd of one of my favorite bands or concert tickets. or jewelry, every girl likes jewelry. it doesn't have to be earrings, it could be a pretty necklace or bracelet. flowers are always a good present(roses or orchids) if you are a musical person, writing a song for her would be really sweet. whatever you get her it is the thought that counts :)
happy holidays!

personally, i think the sweetest gift ever would be a heart-shaped locket, with the date you got together on the back, or some sweet message on the back. something thoughtful is always good. you could take her somewhere, too, like on a picnic or just out to walk around in The City (for me, that'd be San Francisco, i dunno what 'big city' there is for you) which is always really fun. spending time with her is always great. good luck!

well, you could get her some movies she loves. Youcould get her a necklace, braclet, gift card for a massage. Something simple is best cuz you haven't been together long. you dont want to scare her. lol. but if she said don't get her something whatever you do "don't listen to her" she inside wants something. but not extravagent cuz she can't get you something.
