20 7/8" by 30" Oil on poplar wood... did you know that there are two separate paintings of the famous smiling woman? the FIRST painting Leo did was never finished because he was dissatisfied with his work, This painting is called the Isleworth Mona Lisa. It is much larger and the girl is much younger and prettier than the Louvre Mona Lisa and the background is only slightly touched in. This painting was commissioned by Magnifico Giulino de Medici; the lady was his mistress Costanza d' Avalos and this painting is in London. The Other one is, of course in France at the Louvre.

the original dimensions of the mona lisa are 77 × 53 cm or 30 × 21 inches
