Actually, the biggest fine in NASCAR history was handed to Ray Evernham, then crew chief for Jeff Gordon and not to Gordon himself. He was fined $60,000 for using an unapproved suspension part in the May 1995 race in Charlotte, N.C.

if he did it is severely news to me. he received a $10,000 fine for shoving matt kenseth earlier this year and was put on "probation" until the end of august. but the largest fine in history???? no way. sorry. get your facts straight on that one.

it could have been when he shoved matt in bristol in the spring this year but i don't know. i don't pay attention to that stuff much.
