I have a 2 yr old female pet dog, what will happen if she will remain a virgin? is there any complication or side effect with her health just like a human being old maid if she do not have sex life?

The reason why im asking because i do not want my dog to be preggy - it is simply because i do not want mess in my house or foul smell that will be brought by the puppies.

No it doesn't hurt her! I recommend that you get her spayed though because it will remove the risk of uterine cancer and ovarian cancer as well as greatly reduce the risk of mammary cancer. Plus it eliminates the possibility of pyometra which she would be at a larger risk of being left intact.

She will be fine if she never has sex, but may I suggest that you spay her? I saw a question here yesterday where someone had a dog that was never spayed and the dog came down with Pyometra and had to be put to sleep. I still have the link the the question, so I'll add it.

Aside from possibly getting Pyometra , it will eliminate her chances of getting several types of cancer as well, as someone else mentioned.

My dog just died a few days ago. She was 9 years old, never neutered, and never had sex. She died from a uterus infection. The doctor told me that it's important for female animals to either be neutred or to have 1 or 2 litters of puppies or kittens. Otherwise the uterus can become infected and often times with fatal results.

Nothing happens. They don't miss sex or being a mother. In fact, if you have her spayed, she will be much healthier.
Also, puppies are messy, smelly and a lot of work. Good that you recognize that and avoid having more un wanted pets with no homes.

Get her spayed! She won't become lazy or dull. She will have her same personality only she won't get frustrated and spot all over because you will be eliminating her heat cycle. She won't be an "old maid". She will be a happy dog. I have three dogs, all spayed and happy.

Easy remedy to puppies, pay the vet 35 dollars to take out her uterus. But because she is not fixed she may get wanderlust, and she will go and find a mate. Also once you get her fixed you no longer have to worry about periods.

if ya don't want her to have puppies then have her spayed. otherwise she will continue to come into heet..which means any male dog within a half mile from your house will come calling....at least 2 times a year or more...
no problems with her health by having her spayed or your vigilance in not allowing her to mate....
good luck

puppies are beautiful. No dogs are not like human, and i dont think female dogs hump either. Just spay her if you dont want the chances of her going out and getting herself lucky, like what my dog did. lol
