Is this a good example of how the Qur'an conflicts with science?

Question

Qur'an 67:5 says that stars are lamps placed in the "lowest" of the seven layers of heaven which were made to attack evil spirits like missles. This implies that shooting stars are stars that become a missle as they attack an evil spirit.

I've been told that shooting stars are not stars at all, but are actually tiny meteors burning up in Earth's atmosphere. Perhaps modern science is wrong, and Mohammad's revelation is right?

I'm expecting the predictable...
"you don't know what you're talking about"
"you are a racist"
and / or
"the Qur'an can't be translated"

So I've provided the following material to prove that the Qur'an is indeed in error.

In Arabic:
"Wa Laqad Zayyannā As-Samā'a Ad-Dunyā Bimaşābīĥa Wa Ja`alnāhā Rujūmāan Lilshshayāţīni Wa 'A`tadnā Lahum `Adhāba As-Sa`īri"

We adorned the lowest universe with lamps, and guarded its borders with projectiles against the

devils; we prepared for them a retribution in Hell.

And we have, (from of old), adorned the lowest heaven with Lamps, and We have made such (Lamps)

(as) missiles to drive away the Evil Ones, and have prepared for them the Penalty of the Blazing

Does modern science agree that stars are missles?

Answerer number 5 must not be aware of the Space Shuttle missions that have been conducted since the early 1980's. Meteor showers occur when the Earth passes through the trail of a comet. I resent being called an idiot by someone who hasn't done any research before they insult someone's intelligence.

Translation for idiots: WE HAVEN'T BEEN TO THE BORDERS OF THE LOWEST UNIVERSE, SO YOU CAN'T PROVE OR DISPROVE THAT AYAT

Allah is telling us that there are seven levels of the universe, the borders of the Lower Universe, which is probably billions of light years away, has an influx of meteorites and other things science has yet to discover. The Quran also states that the universe is expanding and will at a determine time collapse on itself, and guess what, scientist are just know discovering this.



PS: Meteorites are like missiles, do you not see the craters on Planet Earth, the Moon, and Mars?

A shooting star is a Meteorite. When we see it on Earth its Almost always Light Years Away. But scientists fear a large cluster Meteorite hitting planet Earth in the Future. That would happen if a shotting star is massive and hits planet earth before it burns out into a small stone. You ARE an idiot. Don't fool yourself, you don't know much about Cosmology!

But I have one point.You people try so hard to prove Quran inaccurate.Then why in the hell do U people not try to accept the CHALLENGE that Quran places.PRODUCE A SURAH(CHAPTER) LIKE IT.

Scientist is just people who wrote their analysis and theories after they see the star using telescope... They've never been there and even touched it. They just see it from a very far distance...

And the Quran is came from Allah, the Creator of the star...
