He is equal to God. Well, the Trinity is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost; God is God.

Trinity as a word is now where in the Bible. 1 Tim3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles believed on in the world, received up into glory. His own apostles parted from Him when He told them who He was.
Here's some scriptures: Joh 14:6-11; 1john 5:7; Mark 12:29; Rev. 4:2, 21:6-7, 22:3-4; Acts 17:3, 4:12; 2 corin 4;6, 5:19
there are a lot more that point to God was most high and to prove Himself He came here died, rose again, sent a comforter the Holy Ghost.
Befor the council of Nicea most Christians believed in ONE true God, Constintine and others started the Trinity.

jesus is not god..why?
In the 1980 case of R. v. Davie 1980, the British Columbia Court of Appeal in Canada ruled that God is not a person. The court rendered the decision in the case of aledged arsonist Morrie Davie. In that case, a policeman had overheard Davie say: "Oh , God, let me get away with it just this once," but the appeals court ruled that a prayer is not a "private conversation between two persons," (which would be admissable evidence), because God is not a person. This ruling runs counter to the argument that Jesus is God and walked the earth as a person ..

Commonsense should answer this. Not doctrine or dogma.
As people, and compared to Almighty God, we are a bit dumb, stupid.
But God loves us and wants what is best for us. That's why he gave us the Bible.
And ever since Adam and Eve, NO MAN CAN BE HIS OWN FATHER,
THE TWO MUST BE SEPARATE.
So WHY should God want to confuse us.
The answer is...He doesn't.
HE is Almighty God, and Jesus is HIS son.
God has always been there. Jesus has NOT.
Jesus was God's VERY FIRST creation.
22 “Jehovah himself produced me as the beginning of his way, the earliest of his achievements of long ago. 23 From time indefinite I was installed, from the start, from times earlier than the earth. 24 When there were no watery deeps I was brought forth as with labor pains, when there were no springs heavily charged with water. 25 Before the mountains themselves had been settled down, ahead of the hills, I was brought forth as with labor pains, 26 when as yet he had not made the earth and the open spaces and the first part of the dust masses of the productive land. 27 When he prepared the heavens I was there; when he decreed a circle upon the face of the watery deep, 28 when he made firm the cloud masses above, when he caused the fountains of the watery deep to be strong, 29 when he set for the sea his decree that the waters themselves should not pass beyond his order, when he decreed the foundations of the earth, 30 then I came to be beside him as a master worker, and I came to be the one he was specially fond of day by day, I being glad before him all the time, 31 being glad at the productive land of his earth, and the things I was fond of were with the sons of men.
This scripture refers to Jesus.
Some religions teach that it refers to the "quality" of WISDOM.
But can a 'quality' feel emotion, like 'fondness'?

I will go with what Jesus said about himself and God. He spoke to god as his father. He also said he and his father are one. He is the only one ever, to never have sinned, like God. He performed miracles, like God can. His power came from somewhere, and he said it was God, and that he is God. He is god incarnate. God, become flesh. He is both Jesus, and God, and part of a trinity. This Jesus also spoke of a helper that would not leave us alone after he left. He had to go, but said he would come back, and said we would never be alone. God is alive and well on earth, and is available to us all in the form of the Holy Spirit. You see this spirit at work in the bible before Jesus came as well. The trinity is all over the bible, and I refer to the bible over and over because it is Jesus we are talking about. Jesus became a human like us, and so can sympathize with all we could ever go through and more. Only, he remained perfect, and did what he came to do. He is equal to God, because HE said so, but he still esteemed his father higher than himself. He has a relationship to God, and extends that to us. How awesome is that?

It's a twisted teaching that Jesus is God, instead of the son of God, which he is. So your latter statement would be more correct.
Many religions have lost the way in our present world, especially the ones that say that Jesus is God. A person would have to be pretty dense, hypnotized or zombie-ized to believe that.
The scriptures are overwhelmingly clear in the New Testament, pointing out that Jesus is the son of God.

Jesus is the mediator of man to God. Jesus was given the power by God through the Holy Ghost. In my religion (latter-day saints a.k.a. mormon) we believe that Jesus works with God and is a being of equal power given from god.

He cannot be equal to the Father. The Bible itself says so: "But about that day or hour no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." (Mark 13:32 NRSV). So even Jesus does not know when the end of the world is, only the Father.

Jesus never claimed equality with his Father. Jesus indicated his Father's superiority when he said: "Jehovah's spirit is upon me, because he anointed me to declare good news to the poor." (Luke 4:18) Anointing is the giving of authority or a commission by a superior to someone who does not already have authority. Here God is plainly the superior, for he anointed Jesus, giving him authority that he did not previously have.
Jesus made his Father's superiority clear when the mother of two disciples asked that her sons sit one at the right and one at the left of Jesus when he came into his Kingdom. Jesus answered: "As for seats at my right hand and my left, these are not mine to grant; they belong to those to whom they have been allotted by my Father," that is, God. (Matthew 20:23) Had Jesus been Almighty God, those positions would have been his to give. But Jesus could not give them, for they were God's to give, and Jesus was not God.

In reality, Jesus was just a very influential man. The theological answer is tricky. Check out the Nicene Creed for that one... it will boggle your mind. It states that Jesus was both 100% man and 100% god... how he pulled that one off i can't even begin to imagine.
