My friend from work is hosting a tattoo party. Do you think it's a good idea?
Of course I'm going to check them out but I want to know what everyone thinks.

The artist that is going to be there has his own shop in Philadelphia. And the host even showed me how her tattoo came out. It looked pretty good. And she also said the guy puts a new needle right in front of you.

ok, tattoo parties, can be awesome, and they can be bad... just depends. Make sure they are using clean stuff, make sure they disinfect the area they are going to be tattooing, make sure that they do the tattoo's in a clean room.
I go to piercing parties at times, sometimes i let the guy give me a piercing, other times... not so much, use your judgment.... if it feels shady, it is shady... make sure the artist is wearing gloves, has a portfolio of his/her work, clean needles, sterile environment.... you know how it goes... good luck

It depends. I've been to and hosted tattoo parties. First, you just don't go to anyone's tattoo party. How well do you know the person hosting? Second, how well is the artist's reputation? I have several tattoos and I have some really good people that I trust completely. You have to use your own descretion. I'm from Philly and I know some great places and some great artists. But I also know some really whack ones. Go and have fun. Let someone else get theirs done first, then decide. If nothing else, you hung out with your peoples.

Tattoo parties are always highly recommended.. A good way to get a great price on some new ink.. But it's always a good idea if you know the tattoo artist.. and know some of his/hers work before you go trusting something in someones hands that's going to be with you for the rest of your life.. And always a must.. Make sure they change their needles.. Some artist just like to sterilize their needles and use them for the next person.. A big NO NO.. I've always required new needles.. But that's my preference.. Better safe then sorry.. Good luck, and always have fun!

If you are not sure if you want a tatoo this is a perfect oppertunity to see if you do. Just go with a mindframe of not getting one.Just looking. That is something you will have for the rest of YOUR life, so you have the right to explore it without being pressured, and if these are your friends, they will understand and be happy that you came anyway!

There is nothing wrong with tattoos, I have a couple. However I don't think I would get one at a party. Tattoo parlors are safer, around here they have to be inspected by the state. Is this person licensed or just does it for fun?

I have three tatoos and they were done out of a home. I get compliments on them all the time.

If you know all parties involved and trust them, you should go for it. Listen to your instincts.

Be watchful that the artist isn't drinking or doing drugs. That can lead to a disaster.

No reason why no to go just to check out the tatt's and see the awesome work and designs they have, dosen't mean you have to get one, just tell people you aren't sure and need lots of time if you will ever get one and are short on funds anyhow...

Wtf is a tattoo party?

Whatever it is, it sounds like a disease waiting to happen.
