ok i am doing a school project and i dont know what german espionage and sabotage had to do with why the united states entered world war 1. can anybody tell me wat the conection is?

It was Machiavellian. The US government wanted to get involved b/c if they didn't side in it they wouldn't get any share of the spoils.
The Zimmerman Telegraph gave the US for its pretext its enter the war on the allied side.
ps historians believe the US wanted to enter the war on either side, whichever was winning.

The Nazi's has Japan as allies. When Japan asked us for oil, we declined. They got mad and attacked Peal Harbor.
