I bought the car from a reputable dealer in Northeastern Illinois. It was sold as is with no warranty. Does Illinois law allow for return of used cars with hidden defects?

I am not familiar with the law in Illinois, but I know you can go back to the dealership and have them check it, because it falls under the so called warranty.

When it comes to lemon law, you must have proof that you went to the dealer that they fixed and failed to fixed the problem. I don't know how many times, maybe three times, then you can report it. That's the lemon law I know in general, I guess

"AS IS" means as is ....faulty heater & all .
"Lemon Law" applies to brand spanking new vehicles ONLY.
There is NO LAW (72 hours or otherwise) on an "AS IS - NO WARRANTY" vehicle purchase.
Go to the dealer and ask what they will charge you to fix the heater.....It just might be a cheap & easy fix.
When you buy an 'as is' vehicle, you should expect it to have some faults...If the dealer were to fix it up & sell it with a warranty, they would be selling it at a much higher price.

I doubt it, but it may allow you to get it fixed. If I was the reputable dealer, I would certainly fix it after 2 days. I've had more problems with that before and never had a problem getting it fixed.
Most lemon laws are for new cars, however there are some for used, but they are for problems that can't be fixed after several attempts.

I think there are lemon laws in effect in Illinois. Just contact a law office and they might be able to answer this quick over the phone.
