I tired bleaching my hair the other day, but the Clorox really got into my eyes during the spin cycle.
Maybe I should use the "Gentle" setting on the washing machine next time?

NOOO! Don't listen to these other people!! Ok first of all go to Sally's beauty supply store, you can go to their web site and locate a sallys near you! Then tell them you need a "On the scalp bleach" make sure you can use it on the scalp! Some bleaches are for cap use and say off the scalp only! don't use those! They have fairly large containers of bleach like "Kaleidocolors" you can get a 8 oz container for like $11-13 and you can use this for several bleachings! You will have to mix it with Developer, the person working at sally's can help you pick on out, I would suggest 30 vol or 40 vol depending on how dark your hair is. Just mix it , by the directions on the container, keep it on for the desired time, if it gets flaky and dry then wash it out because that means that it is no longer processing, so you may have to do it again, but be careful!!!!! Do not EXCEED the time it says, you can fry your hair and that cannot be fixed. if your hair feels mushy or breaks apart easily during the processing, wash it out immediately!! There are different types of Kaleidocolors, I like the one in the Purple container best! Good luck and please be careful! You can do it!! Click this link below it will take you to the sally's website where you can locate a store near you!
http://www.sallybeauty.com/mapquest/locator.asp
if you can't click it, then copy and paste it! :)

I really don't understand you people you come in here saying will this work or I did this and I dont know why it totally screwed my hair up.... If it isn't made to use on your hair or a natural product don't use it. I can also promise you ... bleach your hair and home and you will do more damage then you do good then you will have to pay more money to have it corrected than you would to have it bleached in the first place

First of all if you plan on bleaching your entire head you must find a bleach that says it can be used on the scalp. Then depending how dark your hair is you will need to keep the bleach on longer if you desire really light blonde and your hair is dark brown. You should check it by rubbing off a piece of hair every five minutes until you reach your desired color. My advice is just to highlight your hair with a hilighting kit first before attempting to do your entire head. If you have never colored your hair let alone bleached it your skin as well as your scalp can be very sensitive and burn or blister. If any burning starts and continues for more than a few minutes you should rinse your head immediately and try again a few days later. You may also need to tone the bleach if it comes out to yellow or gold.

Oh, please be careful! Make sure if you use real bleach you're in an open-aired area. Bleach can absolutely ruin your hair, so I'd recommend only experimenting on a part of your hair first.
Make sure your hair is clean and dry. Use an old toothbrush. Hold the hair straight up between your fingers. Dip the toothbrush in the bleach and comb it through what you want bleached. Leave it on for just a few minutes. Then wash it out.
Wear clothes that can be wrecked. And be careful of where you do it, too. Be careful of your eyes! (I know I'm acting like a mom.)
Good luck!

If your hair is dark you run a risk of ending up with an orange tint. Peroxide comes in 20,30,and 40 volume so if you have dark hair you should use 30 volume...40 volume is for off the scalp bleaching (like frosting or streaking).Light brown lightens very well with 20 volume..I prefer to buy products from the beauty supply store like Sally's. Just buy the shade of blonde you want and the peroxide. How long you leave it on depends on how dark your hair is. I used to bleach my hair but the roots show FAST,so I started frosting it. With the frosting,it's done when it turns pale yellow.

If you want it done right, I suggest you visit a salon. Cheap "Home Bleaches" often look like it. Sometimes making your hair darker doesn't turn out as bad, but bleaching can be scary in the hands of an ammature. I say, spend alittle extra and look fabulous!

Follow instructiond on the bleaching card.
Basically it is easy:
put the bleach on your hair, wait for 30 minutes (or more-60 minutes) and then wash away.
If you will not be staisfied with the result, try again to bleach.
No harm first 2 years.

Use Sun-In you spray it in and the sun lightens your hair.
Its not really a bleach but it does get it pretty white. I used it a long time ago before making my hair green
