my dad is 53 years old and he's married but he's been flirting online and been on meet your match kind of websites. he emails these women and stuff and they talk very flirty and stuff. im pretty sure he's not actually meeting with them, though they talk about making plans to meet but it never seems to work out because one of them cancels. he's never gone anywhere suspicious or at night at all. i dont think he would, i think he just enjoys flirting online. is this okay what he's doing? it's not only with one woman, it's been with many i think. at least 4 that i know of. i hacked into his email because i know his password (and he even knows that i know it and doesnt seem to change it) so it seems like he has nothing to hide, but sometimes when he's on his laptop and i come into the room, he shuts it quickly (only happened like 3 times before though). is this normal that he's flirting?

i told my mom a year ago and she says she knows he's just chatting and having fun

also: i think it is partly my business, he is my dad. and he could try to keep things more private like delete the emails or change the password. and also, i've never caught him watching porn so i dont think that's something he does in the day when im around at least.

First of all, how would you like it if he hacked you stuff?

Secondly, what he does is his business.

Third, he may have been looking at porn when you walked in on him.

Do yourself a favor and mind your own business. I'm not trying to sound mean, but this is dangerous because the old saying, "What goes around comes around" is true and will come back to haunt you when you least want it to. Trust me, I learned my lesson the hard way.

Why is it none of the child's business, esp if the child is old enough. It is after all her father. If she doesnt take this into concern, then who else. What if the mother finds out later, and she finds out that the child didnt tell her about it. How would the mother feel. I suggest she tells her mom, or talk to the father about it. If she's old enough,.

No!! It's not okay! Tell your mom ASAP!!! NOW!! She has a right to know!! Tell your mother right now! Even though he's not actually meeting them or doing anything this is STILL a form of cheating! Tell your mom ASAP, please!!!

EDIT:

Seriously, thhis is NOT normal, it's deceit! Tell your mother you think he's really gone off the edge and he needs help and counseling! This IS appalling!

None of your dammed business what your dad does. If he enjoys flirting with the woman on a computer, leave him alone, and you certainly have no right to go through his e-mail. Nosy, that's what you are!!!!! How would you like it if he went through your e-mails, you wouldn't like it would you?

You need to mind your own business.

Edit - due to the extra info you gave.

No, its still none of your business. What your father does concerning sex with or without your mother is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

Maybe your mom does the same kind of thing, and that's why she says it's ok. Maybe they're swingers and meet these people together.
