Last night there was a House fire down my block. So when I saw the fire I went down to the house on fire ....But two weeks prior while i was visiting their yard sale that they invited me to. Their 3yr old bratty kid bit me behind my leg on my calf ...I AM THE 4TH BITE VICTIM THIS KID BIT..So when i saw these little puppies whimpering&Mother My instinct was obviOse but while i was going towards the dogs ....They told me to forget the dogs and to help them and their kid first ....No Way Was I Touching that kid Ever ......They did not even care about the poor helpless dogs/pets but i did.........So When the little puppies started crying (very loud crying) my heart just sank.... I had to save them and their mother first ...The puppies&mommy dog were in more trouble than anyone else in the house....Now people are complaining that some of the family members had some minor burns because I did not help them first.(The ones who just stood there and did not help are the ones complaining)

lol your first reaction should of been to save the family, as an animal lover myself i could not turn my back on the puppies and their mom, they needed you more, they have no way of knowing what is happening were as humans are. you are dammed if you do and dammed if you don't. i think you have acted in a very courages manner, the family should be very thankful you were there at all. you are a model citizen, i would be happy to have you as my neighbour.

I think you did what you tought was right. You probably knew that the first thing the firefighters would do is to go search for the people inside the house so, when you saw the dog with is puppies, you thought that you have to save them because nobody would care... That's why, according to me, you have save those poor animals not because of the kid. If you tought they would be in danger, you would have try to help them. So, you only save the ones you tought were in danger. It's way better to have done that then to stand there (as probably many peoples must have done when an incident like happen) and do nothing at all to help. There no little rescue...YOU DID THE RIGHT THING,,, DON'T THINK ABOUT IT...

It is all to easy to be a viewer or internet reader, without actually having the experience.

I would be tempted to follow my heart, and save the mother and puppies first then go back. Being a sucker for pets even though this is the wrong decision. But what was wrong with the family picking up a pup each and coming out holding onto some little bit of animal life.

I presume someone had called the fire brigade and it was them that got out the family.

See how easy it is to be an armchair commentator . Congratulations anyway you saved the pets. I think that was a brave decision to make. Good for you.

You did the right thing, especially if the people were not in immediate danger. Minor burns beats lost lives. The animals still have life in them thanks to you. The people's wounds will heal with time and everyone will forget that you saved the animals before the people. The people will get over it too. Besides were the people saved too? What does it matter then?
Everybody and everything made it out with a little more strength and an unforgettable memory

You know, I would have done exactly what you did. Not because of what the brat child had done previously, but simply because a human knows what to do in an emergency (or should know!) whereas an animal can become bewildered & doesn't know what to do. Instead of running from a fire, it has been known that an animal will actually run into a fire. Some say you should save a human over an animal. Sorry, but I love animals. They treat you better than most humans. I will always save an animal over a human any day & if ever I am in a situation as above, I should hope that my cats & dogs are saved first.

Ah, the kid probably bit through some wires to start the fire in the first place.
The puppies were in more danger. Everyone got out alive and well, if you did nothing the dogs may not have. Instead of listening to what people are saying, direct the negativity to the people who did NOTHING.

Tell people to mind their own business you helped the puppies and that's that. You cant turn back time to suit others, whats done is done. They are only complaining because they are starting to feel guilty for doing nothing when they could have been helping you. Well Done Mate, I would have done the same.

When there is fire and you are rescuing you do not judge you simply save the life that is nearest to you that is the basic instinct and the thinking part comes on later, much, much later and hence do not worry what you have done is the best.

I believe you did the right thing. Clearly that kid deserved to have minor burns for biting you four times. Seriously, I would have done the same thing. Congrats! And ignore those people - they aren't dead. They should be thanking you for saving their dogs.

If no human lost his/her life, then surely you did the right thing.
Humans are able to help themselves but these puppies wouldn't have survived without your help.
and don't even spend time worrying about those who criticise you, if they were so much concerned they should have helped the family.
