on their activities, regardless if they (the minute men) are only there to watch for illegals, mark my words those old men and women are gonna get hurt.

I think the drug cartels are playing with fire. They will learn that the more and more Americans they piss off, the more and more we will line up on the border with our guns ready to get rid of them for good. The Minutemen are doing a great job.

Give the drug cartels credit. They are anything but stupid. To hurt an American citizen on American soil would force the US Government to do something. I think that they are perfectly happy knowing that the Border Patrol has a non-pursuit policy and that the US attorney generals office will go out of its way to prosecute any Border Patrol agent who violates it. Just ask Ramos and Compean. A drug smuggler gets caught twice, is granted immunity twice, and now gets to sue the US government for 5 million dollars. Why would they want to screw up a sweet deal like that?

I think border enforcement is key, since you bring it up. The sooner we take a no-nonsense approach to border enforcement with Mexico, same-day deportations and so forth, get Mexico to start doing their part with law enforcement, the sooner the problem will be solved. There's somewhere between 12-20 million illegal aliens in the United States today, the majority of whom do come from Mexico, if the stats are right. The 1986 amnesty was not followed up with the promised enforcement improvements, resulting in the mess you see today. It's hard to say what the right steps are to take to begin cleaning up 2 decades of gross negligence on immigration, but suffice it to say that starting with border enforcement is a great first step. Other measures, such as employer enforcement, are maybe more difficult to implement, but they also have their place in comprehensive immigration reform.
The pro-Mexico lobbyists, such as yourself, have no respect for the laws, or americans, apparently, and the opinions and attitudes I see evidenced here really underscore the need for more public education on the issue. Uncovering the sources of the crime, the drug smugglers and so forth, ending the human trafficking, putting a stop to the systematic corruption, means dealing directly with Mexico and realizing that maybe their interests and US interests don't really coincide anymore, and turning a blind eye to some of the goings-on we've seen in the news over the past couple years really isn't very prudent.
I'm a firm believer that border enforcement, not only with Mexico, but with Canada also, will result in a dramatic drop in crime in america. The evidence is damning and pretty clear, look at it yourself, if you dare...be honest for a change, instead of on the attack against americans. We've 'helped' ourselves into a situation, with Mexico, that needs to be addressed by Mexico helping themselves...just not helping themselves to the United States anymore...

While I personally believe that it should be the FBI, the NSA, the Border Patrol and the National Guard that should be stopping illegals (both immigrants and drugs) instead of civilians, the Drug Cartels are scum and no one should bow down to their threats.
Why do you think so much that the drug cartels will get involved? drug cartels + illegals = more drugs... seems like another good reason to stop the illegal immigrants.
And why do you believe so much that the illegals will try to hurt the cvilian minutemen? Are you admitting that their entry into the USA is not benevolent? more good reasons to stop them.
And finally its good your proud of your heritage, but do you value your old culture and country more than the USA which you now claim to be a part of? Clarify for me please lest I may think of you as a traitor to the USA.

Some things are worth getting hurt or even killed for. Should the american people just move aside and tell the drug dealers to come on in then? Oh ,and did you hear that the King of England didn't like the minutemen also?

Brave, standup Americans for the most part. Yep! God love em' they are standing in harms way for the rest of us wishy washy loosers (I include myself here) I just an't got the guts at this point to stand around and be a target. But if Im going to die, I'd rather die defending what's mine along with my brethern, than to sit calmly by and watch all that I have worked and sacraficed for turn into a dung heap of dirt farmers and their numerous, Spanish speaking spawn.
The time will coem when I will hobble down to the frey, and beat back the bullets till one finds it's mark ...and then I'll die with a curse on my lips for the scumb bag American leaders that sold out their own country for a pitance. Shame on them!
Hurrah for the MinuteMen and their resolve, their restrain, their humanity and their true American, old style courage!

These men believe they are Patriots. Nobody is perfect when they are on a mission. The Bush Administration needs to stop supporting a scandalous Mexican government so the people of Mexico feel comfortable and can make a living at home. Don't forget to write and tell officials about that.
