Yes, that we can do provided we want to. It takes effort as well as a willingness not to give into passionate emotions when our specific ideas are bashed. It takes self-control, self discipline, a true mastery of ones self as well as a willingness to take the time to love one another. I do not mean this in the Biblical sense by any means. But we need a willingness to take time to listen to one another and reason with one another. And if we can't reason together, we need the wisdom to peacefully walk away.

Its really funny you should post this I am at this moment doing a paper on Voltaire and alot of the things that he says are valid. This quote from him is one of the few I give credit to. It should be a world motto it is very true. Considering nowadays how there are so many different beliefs on everything. We should in a "perfect world" be able to discuss thing as one and agree to disagree but still listen to others veiws

I think that is agreeable, but I must add that getting others to discuss something in a civilized manner is difficult. I've tried many times but without much success besides a handfull of people out of hundreds.

It may be true, but it may not be wise? It seems as though we should be able to, but everyone has not read and agrees with Voltaire.

I'm afraid that simply doesn't happen when you get into religion and politics. People become passionate/irrational when defending their core beliefs. That's why they're not considered appropriate discussions in polite company.

we can be obligated to do what we are oblige but it is up to you whether you like it or not because it is your right not to do your supposed obligation specially so that such obligation is not embodied on the law enacted by the government
