How are magnetic and electric fields the same and different?

They are the same in that they produce force on electric charges, and that is how they are basically defined. Electric fields affect both static and moving charges, magnetic fields only affect moving charges. Electric field lines originate and terminate on electric charges, but magnetic fields form closed loops.
