I clean apartments. Recently cleaned one, that made me very sick to my stomach, and gave me a throbbing headache. After being gone for the night, then returning the next day, it happened again...Was I exposed to someone cooking meth? BTW, they had to repaint, recarpet and remove appliances. Also, two other workers felt the same, unfortunately, they were exposed for longer periods of time, ( 1mos)

Its a very good possibility that the apartment was used for cooking meth. If that was the case then don't return there. All the walls, floor covering everything has to be removed and replaced. The general rule is to demolish the building, due to the chemicals still lingering.
I would not go back as it can cause long lasting health problems. Check with your local health department.

Did you go in to clean after the new paint and carpet were done? Because new paint and new carpet have their own levels of fumes that can give a headache and stomach ache. Especially in an apartment where keeping the windows open wide for good ventilation might not be done, as it would be in a house, especially in an unoccupied apartment. In any event, I doubt that it was a meth-lab; in small, confined residences that manufacture it, the strong odor is too easily identifable and so they run the hoses from the cooking process into the plumbing lines and that will necessitate new plumbing. After all, when a landlord gets a new tenant, new paint is the standard by law and unless they were very conscientious, new carpet is usually needed as well. I've seen many rentals that have bad appliances that need a replacement as well.

Meth can do that to you... Im wondering did it have a cat piss odor smell in the apartment?? If you arent used to being around meth then it can give you a headache.. I use to be a meth addict at one point in time and when i came down or was around it sometimes i would get extremely bad headaches and i would be sick... But there is really no way of telling if you were or were not around it because it only stays in your system for 3 days... I hope all is well now... and im wondering if you reported it...

You would probably have smelt the chemical smell but this may have been masked by other cleaning chemicals that you use or are used to smelling.
It would have made you hyper but can later cause the sort of ill feelings you have described, however exposure to all sorts of legal chemicals can have similar effects, (possibly the paint fumes).eg petrol, acetone, paint thinners etc.
A couple of exposures like you have described would probably not have done any significant long term damage.

The odor, if crystal meth would have been very noticeable as a chemical smell. If exposed, there is very little likelyhood of permenant damage.

hopefully it wasn't caused from that and if it was I'm sure it wasn't enough to harm you long term.
