whats a good camcorder?

i want to get my husband a camcorder for his birthday whats a good brand does anyone get the consumer guides?????

JVC makes a nice Hard Disk Drive camcorder, no tapes or DVDs, you record straight to the hard drive on the camcorder and all you have to do is download it to your computer and burn to a DVD. You can put up to 20 hours of high quality video on most. Just make sure you stay away from DVD Camcorders!!!Good Luck!

Sony Handicams are good, I went with a Canon DC100 DVD, A bit cheaper, but a very nice unit.

Any good sony/canon is worth buying.
