You know - this is a lot like whisper down the lane. Let's stop for a minute and think about this stuff rationally.
From where I am sitting, I have found that there is no devil beyond our own worst emotions - and there is no hell beyond being steeped in our own worst emotions. As far as I can see, we humans are running the show - but more like a bunch of college students on our own independent course of study. We come, we learn, we go - we very likely come back again.
Some deaths are tragic - and some have far reaching implications like nothing else in this world. Some deaths are welcome - there comes a time when the journey is over, don't you think?
God is a little easier to understand if you think of it as the energy that powers this existence more than some old guy in the sky using us like Barbie dolls. We all come here of our own choosing to learn something specific, not to be coddled and live in a paradise and do nothing. It's meant to be a challenge.
Peace!

It's not that God doesn't care. It all started with the challenge that Satan made. Basically he said that God did not have the right to rule--that he withheld good from Adam and Eve--and that he was a liar (the whole eat the fruit and "you positively will not die" thing) God has allowed time for man to see that he can not rule himself (what has come of that? war, crime, sickness, etc.) He has also allowed time for us to show him that we want to worship him out of love (the challenge of Job). In due time, God promises to rid the earth of the wicked and bring the earth back into its original paradise condition. On this paradise, everyone will be perfect, no one will get sick, die, or grow old (just as he had originally purposed for Adam and Eve). Satan will be destroyed and so will any who refuse to worship God in an acceptable manner. But he has had to allow time to answer Satan's original challenge.

It wouldn't be right for God to save all the people that are dying. People die (sadly) and people are born. It is like going on. I don't know about destroying the devil, we are supposed to resist temptation that the devil presents to us.

God doesn't save those who are not His children.
He doesn't destroy the devil because that is your job by turning away from the devil.

The bible tends to confuse those who want quick answers. Quick answer = some stuff about him giving us free will and thus we have to suffer as a consiquence of our own actions and of the actions of other people.
