This is epistasis. Yellow coat is an expression of two black recessives. So, the black lab has at least one black dominant ( brown is at another locus, altogether) So, do a Punnett square. Could be 1/2 yellow puppies, if heterozygous black, or no yellow puppies, if homozygous black.

They can make all the colors of a lab. Black, yellow, and chocolate (chocolate being the most uncommon)

It really depends on there genes...
If the mom is a yellow and the dad is black, you will get more yellow then black.. and If there are brown in the parents you may get brown pups also.
Same with the other way around... (Mom:black.....)

this also depends on what color their parents were. there could be black, yellow, light yellow and chocolate.
