to perform mundane duties around your house? Or would you choose an ILLEGAL?

The question is pertinent. A CPA from Loma Linda, CA who got convicted of a white color crime (felony) or an illegal (HYPOTHETICAL YES) but gives a little insight to the answerers here.

I have hired a felon to roof a house. I have never hired an illegal worker.

You are asking whether or not to hire a felon or BE a felon. Hiring an illegal is I believe a felony, though never enforced.

As for roofing, in the SW it's hard to find a legal roofer anymore. When I was younger it was done mostly by Americans for a livable wage. It's been years since I've seen anything but a Hispanic and likley illegal Hispanic doing non-hot tar roof work and even with hot tar roof work seeing non-Hispanics is very rare. This implies felonious behavior by the employer who is either hiring on the basis of race or hiring illegals. It is open discrimanation.

As to whether you have a choice. Not in the SW you don't. Most cities do not have a roofing company that isn't mostly or all illegals. When you buy Tyson chicken, your buying chicken processed by illegals. When you buy most produce it's produce picked by illegals.

As for the general question. Roofers were low skilled, dangerous work. Before illegals took over a large percentage of roofers were felons. It was the only kind of work they could get back then. Today felons constitute at least one out of 100 people in the US. You talk to felons every day and just don't know it.

Mistress angelina, &asshat Mcpoop F.Y.I. there are probable more honest people in prison today than there are crooks, and many more in prison for stupid things such as a doctor I knew is in prison for a drug charge , do you know why? he was going thru a divorce and forgot to renew his license with the D,E,A, he was not even accused of any thing bad , he got 5 years ,and he was a fine surgeon, several hospitals pleaded for his case, they were denied
another doctor was on the interstate and needed to pee so he pulled off on the side of the hwy, went to the passenger side open the door so no one could see and let it go , a cop stopped while he was there and saw the wet spot , arrested him, he got 3 years, the prisons need free doctors, and our court system is so screwed up it is pathetic, there is no justice in our justice system, did you know that they have a 98.8 %conviction ratio today? so if you or anyone else is arrested unless you have big bucks like O,J, did you are going to prison, did you know any time a cop, F,B,I, AGENT D,E,A, or any other dept of the law brings charges against some one and they confiscate any property the one who brought the charges gets 10%of what is confiscated, or in case of a vechile they can pay the tax and transfer fees on said vechile and it is theirs , so how many times do you suppose drugs have been planted on some one as they did in L.A. during the rampart thing, and no cop was ever even indicted,??so youmay be next in line todo some time , that might be a good thing

True story. Have in the past hired illegals and felons both. Illegals work harder and better but then start to steal and not show.
The felons don't do much of a job but they stick around, show up regular and tend to whine a lot about their plite.
Don't like either. I'll do the work myself.

I do those mundane duties myself, no need to hire anyone. And by the way, if you entered this country illegally more than once- you are a FELON under current U.S law. Look it up.

I would hire the illegal alien because he would work a lot harder than a lazy white CPA felon.

I perform my own duties (clean the bathroom, fix the beds and clean the rooms), while my family does the rest. We arent that rich to pay people so we just do the mundane stuff ourselves.

If you can do it yourself, then do it. If you cant do it, learn. If you cant learn... poor you.

And about your question... I would seriously hire NEITHER. Why waste money on someone for something YOU can do at no cost to yourself?

That is a stupid question, not the stupidest, but close. I would not chose either one. But if a gun was put to my face and I was told to chose, I would chose the American over the illegal. But without the gun in my face, neither. To jim, I consider a felon to be one in jail, or on parole. I would not hire them for anything, now if I knew them before jail, then probably yes if I liked them. If they are out of jail and not on parole and all that, then I might give them a chance depending on what they did. I realize a lot of innocent people are in jail, but such is life, that is what happens with a corrupt system. Wake up, it happens in EVERY country. So get over it. You are delt the hand you have, either you live with it, or die. That is the way life goes.

I would never hire a felon.

The State offers an incredible service - they offer the only opportunity for an employer who wants quality people to weed out society's losers.

If your judgement was so bad that you had to steal a car, or rape someone, or embezzel huge amounts of cash, you made a BIG choice.

A very big STUPID choice.

You're just too dumb to use good judgement, and it will likely cost me business or money to hire a stupid moron who has a proven, state approved, track record of making bad decisions. Somewhere along the lines, 12 "common people" (jurors) agreed unanimously that your decision making process is about as sharp as a marble.

No I would not hire a white felon to rob me blind.

I would not hire an illegal because they don't speak English.
