There exists online a plethera of sources to help you on such an endevour.
My personal favorite sites are:
Deutsche Welle (German World) - www.dw-world.de
Goethe Institut - http://www.goethe.de/enindex.htm
Explore both sites, they contain materials for letting one become accustomed to the language. Particularly on Deutsche Welle, look for 'German Courses' on the left margin. It holds a link with news reports and other media which are spoken in slow, clear, enunciated German, perfect for a beginner.
As far as the Grammer, I would suggest buying a book or two; or if you have any friends who know german, ask them.

Guten Tag(pronounced GOOTEN Talk) means hello
Danke (pronounced Donka) means Thankyou
Fullermachen - mean do you want to full around
ja (pronounced yoh) means yes
nein (pronounced nine) means no.
