You can use the same method/recipe you would on a stove top sauce in a crock pot. Just make a thin layer at the bottom with your veggies (like onion or pepper) to make sure they cook nicely down, and then put the meat. This will avoid the sausage sticking or anything, but you know they are heating nicely. . .Cook on low for about 6-8 hours.

in a very hot pan, brown the sausage, take it out and set it aside. then add 1 or 2 large onions finely chop and saute until translucent add some salt and fresh cracked pepper then some chopped garlic and oregano ( my personal taste) then let is sweat for a couple minutes and add a sm. can of tomato paste then a couple cans of chopped or stewed tomatoes, de-glaze the pan, add all to the crock pot + the sausage and let it simmer for a couple hours, re season to taste.

1 chopped onion
5 cloves garlic, chopped
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 (28 ounce) cans peeled diced tomatoes
1 (6 ounce) can Italian-style tomato paste
7 cups water
3 tablespoons Italian seasoning (you can add to your liking!)
2 tablespoons dried basil
1 teaspoon white sugar
1/2 cup red wine (or you can use water...I do when I cook for the kids)
1 pinch crushed red pepper
In large saucepan over medium heat, saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft. Stir in tomatoes, tomato paste, water, Italian seasoning, basil, sugar, wine, and crushed red pepper. Reduce heat to low and simmer 3 hours(stove top), stirring occasionally. Add the browned meat to the sauce closer to the end of the simmering process!
This can be done in the crockpot....just keep it on as low as you can once you have gotten it to a boil!! Burnt sauce does not smell good!

The hot sausage would be so goooood in the speghetti sauce. That is what I use too. Jimmy Dean! Yummm! I always get great reviews when I make my homemade sauce. Happy eating!

tomato sauce, maybe some chunks of tomatoes, some italian seasoning, garlic, onions, and the venison would be great in it... thats what i use in my sauce as well.
saute the onions and garlic, while simmering the tomatoes, and sauce, and the added italian seasoning.... then ad the garlic and onions when they are soft,(clear look to the onions) season to taste, dont be afraid to be creative and add to it what you think it needs.

Cook it exactly the same way you would on the stove
except
if you're using veggies (onions, garlic, broccoli, carrots, etc) put them on the bottom first
then add your meat on top of the veggies
then add your sauce
if you have to cook it fast, put it on high for 4-5 hours
if you want to cook it slow (this is the best way), put it on low for 7-8 hours
Enjoy!

All you need are these:
Tomatoe Sauce or Catsup
finely-grated Garlic
finely-grated Onion
Mix them all together with your sausages and then cook and boil for five minutes....
You have to estimate the volume you require according to the volume of your pasta....
