Basically, the floor tiles are layed out in a diamond style setting (make room look bigger) however, there are gaps in between shouldn't floor tiles be filled in like the walls, it feels like its a bit gappy or is this the look. What if bits & pieces fall in between surley that wouldn't look right.

Gaps between floor tiles depend on the size of the tiles. Wall tiles are normally smaller (4inch) and have a 1/16" gap. If the floor tiles are larger (12") they will have about 1/8" to 3/16" gap. The 4" tiles have built in spacers and the floor tiles require installation of spacers when they are laid. The other possibility is the contractor may not have grouted the floor properly.

He should not have his adult teeth yet. He sounds like he has a case missing you guys to be honest. The Terrier in him requires a TON of exercise. Try to take him on really long walks or if you have a fenced yard let him out there to go potty. He should run around like a mad dog. Keep him out there for about 5-10 minutes everytime he goes potty. If you do not have a fenced yard 1 trick that works well is to go on a bicycle ride and mount a large, somewhat flexible spring on the frame of the bike. Then get a 4-6 foot leash and attach it to the spring.. It takes some training for that but it will wear the dog out and calm him down so he will not chew everything up as much and possible be better in the cage. As far a cage training try to only cage them until they are fully potty trained and mostly through the chewing stage. Then they can have the run of the house while you are gone. Largest thing with pit/dane mix is to make sure they excersize daily and ALOT!

Isn't there grout between the tiles?
There should be space between tiles (how much space depends on the size of the tile) but it is meant to be filled in with grout, in which case obviously nothing can get down in there.
Are you sure the tilers are finished?

There shouldn't be any noticable gaps, like on the wall tiling.
You should be able to run your fingers over the whole floor with only slight dips were the grouting goes.

Tilers are notorious for ripping people off, so make sure you get them to finish it properly (withold payment till you are satisfied with the work). They charge a furtune for what is essentially quite an easy job. Bring on the Polish tradesmen! ........

Sounds like a bad tile job. Call the contractor that put it in and get them to fix it.
