Yes, actually, they can. And a lot of foods we eat, plants we have, and cleaning supplies are fatal or will make a dog dangerously sick if ingested.
Your dog can even be allergic to it's dog food, signs of this are dry, itchy skin and/or frequent stinky ear infections. Most commercially prepared dog foods use inferior ingredients, including, dying, diseased and decaying plant and animal matter....Yuck.
I recommend these foods: They are made to be non-allergic:

Some people foods can be toxic to dogs. For instance grapes. Chocolate. and other people foods. Dogs can have allergic reactions to shampoos, food in dog foods. For instance some dogs don't tolerate Lamb well and other s don't tolerate chicken well. Some don't tolerate wheat.
So yes, animals can have allergies too.
Sometimes my dog gets sneezy and itchy and I give her Benadryl. I am not suggesting you do that because i do not know your dog but I do know mine and what I can give her for what reasons.
Just thought I'd answer that yes, dogs can have allergic reactions.

Yes, when I was working in a pet store a man came up to me and asked where he could find dog food that didn't contain chicken as his dog was allergic to chicken. It would apparently have a momentary elapse of hearing and sight. Finding pet food without any trace of chicken was hard. However, I haven't heard of people reacting quite like this, so I don't know if it really answers your question.

yes. my dog has allergies. she is put on steroids and antibiotics during the summer months because she is allergic to crab grass and pollen. it is horrible. her paws crack and bleed if she even comes in contact with it for a minute. and i surely cant test the grass to see if it is crab grass or not before she steps in it!!!! but yes, many animals have allergic reactions to different things.

Absolutely.
Any dog can have an allergic reaction to any substance, at any time, for no apparent reason....even if (especially if, in fact) he/she has been exposed to it before.

Yes, animals have allergies like people too. And have alot of the same symptoms. If your pets eyes are watery or it sneezes or runny nose, you may want to see your vet to get something for your pets allergy. Dogs "can" take "one" benydryl tablet every 12 hours, but it will make them very tired.

I'm allergic to cats too. Stop scratching your face or it will get worse. Go to the doctor. If not, by two to four days it will go away by itself.

I know that dogs do have allergies. My dog is allergic to fleas and grass. She starts itching really bad, and her skin gets flakey, and her eyes get blood shot. Luckily, you can get allergy medicine for them by taking them to a vet.
