Most dogs do this, check with your vet. There is a product that can be sprinkled on the cats food that doesn't change the flavor, but will make feces very undesirable for the dog to eat.

It is very normal and common for dogs to do this. There is something you can buy at a petstore that you can put in the cats food to make the feces taste bad to the dog. You would think that since it was poop it would already taste bad, but to a dog it is a delicacy. It can cause parasites in the dog by eating the feces.

All dogs love cat poop, especially dried munchies from a litter box, gives "bad breath" a whole new dimension. It has to do with the contents of cat food plus if the cat is eating meat or rodents, the undigested matter and minerals is just what dogs crave. It's natural but I would not encourage it, good luck trying to train them not to. That's one reason some dogs end up muzzled.

Put the litter box up higher so the cat can reach it, but the dog can't.

well my chihuahua used to do the same thing but if you like get a cage when you are gone and teach it not to eat it that should do it and if it's a puppy you can train it.
