does anyone have any tips for when you going through airport secuirty with a laptop?

I fly with mine all the time. Just take it out and put in a separate container that is available.

They ask that you take the laptop itself out of the bag and place it into a seperate container; if you do that, I suppose you're all set, that's the only information I can give -- it's not going to harm your laptop or anything like that.

There really is not special way to bring you laptop with you through security. They do ask you to take it out and put it in a bin by itself, and occasionally they will ask you to turn it on. Other then that really nothing else.
