if you get the new version of i tunes will it earse all the songs on the old one?

i have a ipod and i was wondering if i should get the new version of i tunes i dont want all my songs to get earsed

No, updating itunes is safe. You should always back up your music though, whether or not you update.

No, it shouldn't. It hasn't happened to me before, and I have done it many times.
