Keep room clean. That includes vacuuming and dusting putting own clothes away. At least taking laundry downstairs and sorting..

While in school, I think taking care of your own bedroom and messes (including laundry or dishes you may have used) is quite enough for any 12 year old. Most especially if your mother is an at-home mom I would never expect any child to do more than that. School is a long 8 hour job for anybody and on top of that, kids are given up to 3 hours of homework each night. Even mom's and dad's don't suffer that kind of torture from work, lol.
However, in single-parent families (which is becoming SO very common) more is expected out of kids living at home. Unfortunately they have to pick up the slack of the missing second adult.
In my family, having a one-parent household, we all filled the homemaking shoes of our missing mother. We vacuumed, cleaned the floors, did our own laundry, dusted, cleaned dishes (no dishwasher!), cooked dinners, made our own lunches, made our own breakfasts, cleaned our rooms, bathrooms... you get the picture. :)
Coming from experience, that is simply too much for a kid!

If you are that 12 year old you may not think so right now but yes! You should have chores to do! Be thankful that you have parents who care enough about you to make you do chores! There are a lot of young people girls getting married these days and they don't know how to cook or do any kind of house work. The young men don't want to help out but expect their wives to work as well. You are a lucky kid you just don't know it yet but one day you will be glad.

A 12 year old should be able to do allot around the house by now if you have taught them right like run the vacuum or dust or do dishes or set the table or a lot of other things.

In my opinion a 12 year old should clean his or her room, clean the bathroom after his or herself, sweep up, vacuum, and empty or refill the dishwasher or clean the counter tops. Of course a parents should not treat a child as a servent.

Assuming this is your only child, then divide the work load into 3 parts and have them do their share. At 12 they are old enough to do a good amount of work.

At the age of 12 you should do what ever your parents requires of you.Even when you don't want to do what you are asked just do it anyway get it over with.It takes more time to pout and complain then to just do what you are asked to do.at the age of 12 it is the only way you can show your parents how much you appreciate them.

Unload dishwasher, sweep and/or vacuum/ wash windows on doors and clean mirrors, make beds, carry laundry and hangers to the laundry room, dust mop boards, everything mom can do, only not as much and slower.

I think that he/she should:
- Clean his/her room (If they have one)
- Do their own laundry
- Make sure that by the end of the day (when they go to sleep) all of their stuff is put away.
I hope I was helpful!
