The path of least resistance would be to use the Add and Remove Programs utility (That is if you are on Windows. I think there's a Mac equivalent of it, and if you use a Deb based Linux distro, There's something similar to this too. Anything else and I'm in a loss.) And uninstall it. Then you can download the installer again from the site and reinstall it just as if you are installing it the first time.

From add/remove program, you should e able to uninstall firefox.

if you can't uninstall anything, there is a cool software caller ccleaner(www.ccleaner.com). it can uninstall any software even if it is corrupted. Moreover, this small program deletes junk file and take care of your system. you can try it.

Believe me, I will give you the best advice."Get rid of firefox". Uninstall firefox and no need to reinstall it.

get Opera(www.opera.com) . it has all the features bundled into smallest filesize and best track record of security(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_web_browsers#Vulnerabilities ).
Definitely worth a try.
Enjoy!

If you are running windows XP, go the control panel, then to add/remove programs. From there find Mozilla Firefox and select uninstall.

For re-installation, you may re-download the file from Mozilla.com, or if you have the setup file saved to your computer already, click on that and reinstall.
