Someone told me it could be my gall bladder. How common is it to have your gall bladder removed? What sort of pain would I be experiencing before they had to remove it?

The gall bladder should be on your right side under your ribs. The left is the liver I believe, if I remember my anatomy and physiology from university correctly.
