Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

I was having trouble sleeping last year, my chiropractor told me that drinking a glass of red wine would help, which it did. I also tried some other natural ways, like chamomile tea, sleepy time tea. Some others that might help are vitamins, Karva Karva, Rest EZ( a maleleuca product), melatonin, Valerian and passion flower. The main reason I tried them is that I still wasn't falling right to sleep. But after much suffering without sleep, I found the best thing to do is to get on a regular schedule of going to bed at 10:00 to 10:30. It seems to be when I doze off naturally. If trying the vitamins and teas are not for you, try going to bed on a more regulated schedule and maybe relaxation techniques. It might help. Good luck!!

I know the feeling! I had severe insomnia for 9 months. took all manner of pills. People say to try meditation and things. None of this ever worked for me. Things like massage might help. If you can reduce the stress it may help you sleep. I still have problems but its worse when I am stressed. I can sleep semi normally sometimes now but I was never the same. I just can't get that tired feeling. I feel like I'm awake all the time.

ok, well, i have a tendancy to not be able to fall asleep until 12 or 1 in the morning, but I feel tired. SO there are different ways to fall asleep without pills: tense your whole body as much as you can then let go, try it again and again, close your eyes and think of something happy, count sheep lol or whatever, watch a funny, movie before you go to bed, do something strenuous during the day, that you know will make you tired alter (like a football game or excercising, etc.), or bundle up, clear your mind, think of nothing except sleeping/dreaming

You can try deep breathing techniques which will relax you(breath slow and very deep). Also, try not to dwell on the fact that you are having trouble sleeping. If you can't sleep for awhile get up and do something else for a little bit. There is also a supplement called Melatonin. Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone in your body. At night melatonin is produced to help our bodies regulate our sleep-wake cycles. Sometimes not enough is produced. You can try taking some melatonin, which added with the deep breathing exercises, may help you get to sleep. You can by find Melatonin tablets at almost any health store or even at your local pharmacy.

Good luck!
