If a guy has been friends with a girl for a long time and he told her he is attracted to her, why would he wait to have sex with her?

Just because he said he is attracted is NOT a " GO HAVE SEX" card. Sometimes two close friends having intimate relations can spoil a friendship. He must respect you big time and THAT is a rare thing these days of fast self satisfaction at any price. He isn't rejecting you in any way, he is showing how much he loves you. Chill out, be real with one another and it will all work out. Good luck !

There are many reasons why a guy that is attracted to a girl might not have sex with her. And it would change depending upon the guy, the girl, and the relationship they have.
Maybe he cares for someone else.
Maybe he is intimidated.
Maybe he has an STD.
Maybe he has a religious problem with it.
Maybe he ha some other moral problem with it.
The remedy here is TALKING. Talk about. If you want to have sex, tell him, ask him if he's into that. If he's not then understand. If he is then talk about how to make him comfortable. Open a line of communication, you prolly shouldn't be having sex with someone you can't talk to anyway.

Could be a number of reasons. His religion. His morals. He wants to take things slow. He's a unich. Etc.
Generally girls should not take this as a bad thing. If a guy wants to wait, let him wait! Now if the guys says, "No, I will never have sex with you." Get out. He's probably screwing someone else. The desire to have sex is a great thing, but just because someone wants to wait, doesn't necessarily mean they don't love you.

I have been married for seven years,but before my husband I had not slept with anyone,not that I had not thought about it,but the guys I had dated were all wrong. My husband on the other hand had lost his virginity early and had a handful of partners. When my husband met me, he thought I was the exception to the rule, and was excited over the fact that I was different from other girls he had dated. He waited two years to consummate are relationship, and believe me, I was ready before then,but he wanted this relationship to be different. This could be one reason your guy wants to wait or maybe he is so nervous, that he is afraid he will not live up to your expectations,also he could just want to take it slow and see where the relationship goes.

He actually does like you. If he is willing to wait until he thinks that both of you are ready, not just him and not just you, it means he values what you two have and doesn't want to ruin it.
There is potential for a relationship there. Make sure it's what you want.
The love of my life and I really liked each other years back, but we wouldn't do anything about it for fear of ruining each other.
Plus, I was still a dramatic little girl then. ;)
Be careful with sex. It really does have a huge impact on relationships of all types.

It used to be the guys rushing the girls to have sex but now all these girls AND older ladies are rushing the guys to have sex and if they don't give it up pretty quick the ladies will toss them aside like nothing.Times are changing alot of the guys have more respect now.

just because they are friends doesn't mean they should have sex. some guys actually want to wait for love, not just attraction, to have sex.

WAIT ,YOU NEED TO LIKE THINK A SEC.WHY WOULD HE DO THAT HE IS PROBUBLY VERY smart and will not have sex till he knows it is special moment you really need to wait
