When I was just a little guy, my best friend's mom would make "breakfast rice". She'd take cooked white rice, and mix in milk, sugar, and cinnamon, and then she'd microwave or cook it in a sauce pan over the stove. That was one of my favorite treats in the world! I haven't had it in years... thanks for reminding me about that!

It is a traditional breakfast food in several cultures. Chinese and Mexican cultures eat it warm with milk and sugar or cinnamon (like Americans eat oatmeal or cream of wheat). It is just another type of cereal (grain), like rice crispies.

After a serious night of drinking...nothing calms my stomach and hangover like a bowl of plain rice in the morning! Seriously.

Great way to use leftover rice:

melt pat of butter in small saute pan
add rice and stir on medium heat
beat an egg or two with a splash of milk
reduce heat, add egg, scramble
remove from heat and add lots of black fine pepper

.....One of my favorite pigout foods.....
