I need good ideas for fund raisers...?

I have students planning a trip to Australia and it is very expensive. They need to raise around $5000 each within a year and a half. So if any of you know of a good way to raise a lot of money quickly, please help.

Spaghetti dinners, crab feeds, pancake breakfasts, car washes, catalog sales, candy sales, dances, silent auction, raffle tickets..etc.

You probably wont be able to raise $5000 each in one event, you will more than likely need to plan to have a series of planned events (dinners/breakfasts) and ongoing events (catalog sales,candy sales,bake sales)

Have a massive yard sale. People always have stuff they box up and take to the local thrift store because they don't have time to have one. Get with all the parents and anyone else to see if they will donate their stuff to you. You can also sell drinks, hot dogs & chips. Have face painting. We're planning on doing this come spring

When I was in high school my German class sold German chocolate advent calendars. We sold them for $10 each and it was enough for all of the German classes (about 350 kids) to go to Chicago and eat a meal for free.

Organize a Bingo Social every month or quarterly. Also, try to know if you have classmates who can sing and play instruments. And with that, you can make a benefit show.
