cause people are dumb..and well its hard to find a ps3 and well i wouldnt waste my money on a 360xbox new is better

it's simple. some people actually have higher standards and believe in quality. the quality of a blu-ray or HD-DVD player in a gaming system, becuase of cost, is going to be subpar compared to a properly designed and built stand-alone blu-ray player.
if a good blu-ray player costs 1000, and a PS3 costs 650...then something was left out..or sony is taking too much of a hit for each Ps3 unit.
It was like with the Playstation or even Sega CD...why would you spend $300 or so on a CD player when you could get one of those, simple, the quality of the cd players in a Playstation is lower than a good $300 CD player.
new is not always better...sometimes, new is crap. only "wal-mart-consumers" (the avearage consumer who cares more about price than quality) believe new is better, be smart.
