based on something i read in a book to work it out.
my weight in kg x 24 = A... so 60kg x 24 = 1440
I only do light activity, so A x 0.3 = B.... so 1440 x 0.3 = 432
A + B = 1872
I have taken off 300 calories to loose weight.

Is this correct as 1572 seems to be a lot if I want to loose weight? Does anybody have any idea? PS. I'm 163cm tall.

Sometimes, we actually have to eat more to lose weight, as crazy as this sounds. This is mainly because we need the fuel to get our bodies working properly. Instead of eating less, you may just need to up your activity level. Try walking more or getting into a cardio routine at your gym.

But at 5'4 / 132#, depending on your frame size, you seem just fine. Perhaps you may just want to firm up a little. A weight strengthening program might just be up your alley.

Err.. I read in magazines that the standard calories to lose weight is 1200 calories. This calorie intake combined with regular excercises, should help one lose weight. Good luck!
