My off and on boyfriend messed around with girls while we were apart and I didn't say anything because it had nothing to do with me, but when I met someone and slept with him, he got all upset with me and got all hurt and said that anything I've ever said to him about my feelings now mean nothing. Why is that? we weren't even together at the time.

It's just natural to all of us (boys and girls) to jealously protect our partners. When some one u love sleeps with some one else, it is so hurting and betraying. U feel that u were simply being used rather than being loved. For ur information, girls are more "terrritorial" than boys.

Some people have such double standards...some don't...why not remind him that he had sex with other women during that time too, but you aren't taking issue because y'all were APART and the situation had nothing to do with you..just as you having sex with another guy while you were apart, had nothing to do with him.

you both clearly don't seem to want a committed relationship with each other if you are 1) on again off again, and 2) sleeping with others during the "off again" periods.
bottom line, he is in the wrong. if you have a mutual agreement to have these off periods, then you should both have equal freedom to do as you please while apart..

So its okay for him to sleep around, but not you? Tell him that you're being held to a double standard and that you don't appreciate it. If he cares, he'll accept that. If not, try to find a stable boyfriend.

it could be a series of things. for example if he's a competive than hes just trying to size himself up with your prior conquests. whatever you do don't tell him he's the best ever if it is not true. it can backfire.
